Use predigt.io with your AI assistant

Claude and ChatGPT can query predigt.io directly: which churches are in my town, what was Sunday's sermon about, what does a sermon say about forgiveness. The connection is free, needs no predigt.io account and takes a few minutes to set up.

What your assistant can retrieve

  • Churches from the church finder with address, livestream and latest sermons.
  • Sermons with summary, key message, topics, Bible references and chapter outline.
  • Full-text search across all public sermons, in German and English.
  • Transcripts section by section, so the assistant can look up exactly what it needs.
  • Daily bites for the week and for today.

Only content that is public on predigt.io anyway is served. The interface is read-only and transmits no user data. Every answer includes a link to the source on predigt.io.

One address for every assistant

predigt.io speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to connect external sources. All you need is this address:

https://quickscript.predigt.io/mcp

Authentication: none. If a dialog asks, choose “No authentication”.

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors (depending on the version also Apps or Plugins).
  2. Enable Developer mode and choose Create or Add custom MCP server.
  3. Name “predigt.io”, the address above, authentication None.
  4. In a chat, enable predigt.io from the plus menu. predigt.io is also available as a source in Deep Research.

Custom connectors are currently available on OpenAI's paid plans; in Team and Enterprise workspaces an administrator has to allow them. Menu labels change from time to time.

Questions to try

  • “Which churches on predigt.io are in Wolfsburg?”
  • “What was the latest sermon at Erlöserkirche Wolfsburg about?”
  • “Find sermons about forgiveness and summarise their key points.”
  • “Which Bible passages were quoted in last Sunday's sermon?”
  • “Is there a daily bite from my church today?”

The more specific the question, the better the answer. Name the church or the topic and the assistant will find the right sermon and cite it with a link.

For churches

Is your church listed in the church finder? Then its public sermons are automatically available to AI assistants, just as they are visible on predigt.io. If you prefer not to, you can opt out at any time in the web app, in the settings of your church collection: action menu, Block AI access. The content stays visible on predigt.io and in the apps, just not in the assistants.

Details are in our terms of service, section 6.4.

Privacy

The connection runs between your AI assistant and predigt.io. predigt.io only sees the request to the interface, no account data and no conversation history. What the operator of your assistant does with retrieved content is governed by its own terms. More in our privacy policy.

Soon without set-up

We are working on listing predigt.io in the directories of Claude and ChatGPT. Then a single click is enough, and the assistant will suggest predigt.io on its own for matching questions. Until then, the set-up above is the way.
